Cast list

IDA …….. a gentle, more settled, disposition than the other two.

LUCILLE… Bright, brittle and flashy, likes male company.

DORIS….. The strongest character with a sharp, sarcastic wit.

SAM…… A kind but shy widower,

not quite ready for the power of  the trio.

 

MILDRED. A smaller, but important role, shallow and clinging. Could put a spanner in the works. 

The setting is New York so suitable American accents will be required

Don’t be put off by the title, it’s a very funny play.

Ida, Lucille and Doris are old friends and part of a club, the Cemetery club. Each month they visit the cemetery for a gossip with their late husbands. Here they meet Sam, who is visiting his wife’s grave - and their lives change forever.

This touching play about three feuding Jewish women is funny, wise and gloriously witty.
